Shift Engineer

About the role

Lead shift operations to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable power plant performance. You will monitor gas turbines, generators and auxiliary systems from the Central Control Room, execute startups and shutdowns, and manage emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control gas turbines, generators and auxiliary systems from the Central Control Room (CCR).
• Execute plant startup, shutdown and load adjustments while analysing operational data.
• Lead and supervise shift teams, manage handovers and ensure compliance with schedules and procedures.
• Coordinate emergency response and work with maintenance to address plant upsets and corrective actions.
• Enforce HSE standards, including permit‑to‑work compliance, safety inspections and hazard identification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering.
• Valid Power Plant Operator or Shift Engineer certification and HSE/First Aid/Firefighting training.
• 3‑5 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably gas turbine or combined‑cycle plants.
• Proven leadership, communication and coordination skills.
