Senior Piping Engineer – Materials

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer – Materials to lead the definition of piping design bases, codes, standards and deliverables for safe, reliable and cost‑effective solutions in Iraq. The role serves as the single point of contact for all piping material activities, interfacing with clients, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review piping design basis, material specifications, datasheets and technical bid evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and project‑specific requirements (ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, NACE MR0175/ISO 15156).
• Prepare standard deliverables, datasheets and requisition packages for both metallic and non‑metallic piping (GRE, HDPE).
• Provide technical support for material selection and participate in corrosion review sessions.
• Review and approve technical deliverables such as isometrics, P&IDs, BOMs, MOC/change notes and design change requests.
• Manage material tracking throughout the project lifecycle and apply effective change management.
• Mentor engineers, drive quality and ensure schedule adherence across project phases.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation teams and vendors.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related).
• 12+ years of experience in concept, FEED, detail engineering and EPCM within the oil & gas industry.
• Experience with Middle‑East clients (e.g., ADNOC, BP, PDO, Total Energies, Qatar Energies) and both onshore and offshore facilities.
• Proven track record on greenfield and brownfield projects and working in multicultural teams.
