Senior Category Manager

About the role

The Senior Category Manager drives the overall strategy and commercial performance of assigned FMCG categories and brands. This role blends category management, brand development, marketing, trade marketing, pricing, assortment, supplier management, and financial planning to achieve sustainable sales, profitability and market share growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies, annual business plans and pricing, assortment and positioning frameworks.
• Lead comprehensive marketing plans across ATL, BTL, digital and PR, ensuring brand consistency and ROI.
• Design trade marketing programs for modern trade, traditional trade, e‑commerce and HORECA, and manage joint business planning with key accounts.
• Coach cross‑functional teams, collaborate with sales, finance and supply chain, and maintain supplier relationships through regular business reviews.
• Own P&L for the category, monitor budgets, trade spend and financial KPIs, and lead regular business reviews and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field; MBA highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 + years of progressive experience in commercial, marketing or category management within the FMCG sector.
• Deep knowledge of FMCG/CPG industry, retail channels, modern trade practices and brand building methodologies.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense and Nielsen.
• Strong analytical ability to track financial metrics (NRM, trade spend, margin).
