Senior Calibration Engineer

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Erbil and focuses on planning, executing and documenting calibration and testing activities for a wide range of instruments and systems. The Senior Calibration Engineer ensures traceability, compliance with international standards and delivers accurate calibration certificates and technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, perform and document calibration and testing of electrical and mechanical measurement equipment.
• Develop, optimise and validate calibration methods in line with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Analyse measurement data, assess uncertainty and produce clear calibration certificates.
• Mentor junior engineers and support laboratory accreditation efforts.
• Drive continuous improvement of calibration processes and quality systems.
• Collaborate with clients to understand technical needs, provide guidance and assist in troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in calibration and testing with proven ability to plan and validate measurement activities.
• Solid background in Electrical Engineering (instrumentation, sensors, electrical measurement principles).
• Solid background in Mechanical Engineering (dimensional metrology, mechanical measurement equipment).
• Experience with power‑train or rotating drive systems is an advantage.
• Experience working toward or within ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and quality management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metrology or a related field; advanced calibration certifications are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional engineering environment.
