Senior Android Engineer

About the role

1001 is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Developer to join its mobile development team. You will design and build advanced features for the 1001 platform, with a strong focus on Kotlin, Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing to deliver high-quality, scalable and robust Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new features and enhancements for Android apps, taking ownership of the full lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Write clean, efficient and maintainable Kotlin code and champion TDD by writing test cases before implementing features.
• Design and run unit tests to verify component correctness and maintain a reliable suite of unit tests.
• Take part in code reviews and fix bugs in existing apps while monitoring performance and stability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation on architecture, codebase and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and give feedback on feature feasibility.
• Work with the product manager, designers and other team members to deliver projects successfully.
• Mentor fellow engineers and keep up to date with Android and Kotlin developments.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of experience as an Android developer in mobile app development.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and familiarity with Agile methods.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Strong Kotlin and deep knowledge of the Android SDK and Android Studio.
• Extensive TDD experience and unit testing with testing frameworks.
• Solid object-oriented design and software design patterns.
