Public Relations Manager – Basra, Iraq

About the role

AntonAnton Oilfield Services Group is seeking a Public Relations Manager to lead its corporate communication and government liaison activities in the Iraq region. Based in Basra, you will act as the primary bridge between the headquarters and local stakeholders, ensuring the company’s reputation and operations align with regional expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand relationships with Iraqi government entities, state‑owned oil companies, industry associations, and local communities.
• Lead corporate branding and external public‑relations initiatives to strengthen market presence.
• Monitor public opinion, manage reputational risks, and coordinate crisis‑communication and emergency‑response actions.
• Facilitate cross‑cultural coordination between headquarters, local authorities, and project teams.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to support smooth business operations and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Relations, Communications, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in public relations, government relations, or corporate communications, preferably within the energy sector or multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of Iraq’s energy policies, regulatory framework, and stakeholder‑engagement practices.
• Native Arabic speaker with fluent English; Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship‑management, and crisis‑management capabilities.
