Community Liaison Officer (CLO)

About the role

The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will act as the primary bridge between the CSSP‑WIP Project and the surrounding local communities. This role focuses on building trust, fostering open communication, and ensuring community concerns are heard and addressed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate two‑way communication, providing project updates and gathering community feedback.
• Mediate conflicts and resolve issues that arise between the project team and the community.
• Prepare and deliver clear reports on community engagement activities and outcomes.
• Monitor and analyze the economic, political, and social dynamics affecting the project area.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community relations or a similar field.
• High interpersonal aptitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy towards cultural, personal, and community sensitivities.
• Strong mediation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Knowledge of the local language and cultural context.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Competence in dialogue, information disclosure, and negotiation.
• Good reporting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
