Procurement and Contracts Engineer

About the role

The Procurement and Contracts Engineer supports the effective execution of procurement and contracting activities, ensuring timely sourcing of goods and services in line with company policies and governance. This role contributes to supplier development, cost optimisation and stakeholder engagement across the oil & gas operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end procurement and contracting activities for goods and services, including sourcing, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations and contract award.
• Develop and implement sourcing, tendering and contracting strategies that ensure operational continuity, maximise commercial value and mitigate risks.
• Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, ITTs, commercial evaluations and award recommendations in compliance with delegated authority.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE and other user departments to define scopes, technical specifications and evaluation criteria.
• Conduct market assessments, commercial evaluations and negotiations to achieve optimum value and competitive pricing.
• Administer awarded contracts and purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, KPIs and contractual obligations.
• Manage contract amendments, variations, extensions and claims with appropriate commercial evaluation and approvals.
• Identify cost‑optimization and value‑engineering opportunities while maintaining quality, safety and operational requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of progressive experience in procurement and contracts, preferably with an international oil & gas operator.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
