Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of a gas‑turbine combined‑cycle power plant, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation. The role sits on the site leadership team and works closely with Maintenance and Site Management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall management of all site equipment and systems using the GE Vernova or customer workforce.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to maximise plant efficiency while meeting safety, reliability, economic and environmental requirements.
• Ensure recording of plant operations and maintenance data and perform periodic operational checks in line with customer, manufacturer and legal requirements.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and manage LOTO procedures.
• Develop and implement operating procedures for major systems based on vendor manuals and facility designs.
• Coordinate with GE Vernova O&M support, engineering and other functions to resolve complex operational issues.
• Drive optimisation of plant operating strategies to reduce cost and increase output.
• Prepare and analyse plant operating logs, reports and chemical sampling programs.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls.
• Minimum 10 years of gas‑turbine combined‑cycle power plant O&M experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
• At least 5 years of O&M experience with GE Vernova F‑Class gas turbines.
• Strong project‑management, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GE Vernova products, services and processes.
• Proficiency with computer tools for data analysis and reporting.
