Process Team Lead – Thermal Power Plant

About the role

The Process Team Lead will head the Process Engineering discipline for thermal power plant projects in Erbil, ensuring designs meet safety, performance and operational requirements. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, support procurement and construction, and guide the project from design through hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all Process Engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing and approving PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, and hydraulic studies.
• Ensure equipment sizing and selection comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Provide technical input to utility, mechanical and civil disciplines and support construction, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Participate in safety and technical reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID and SIL studies.
• Monitor team performance, allocate work, and report progress and risks to the Project Engineering Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in process engineering for thermal power plants.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide junior and senior engineers.
• Strong understanding of process safety, reliability and operability requirements.
