Principle Scaffolding Specialist

About the role

KBR is looking for a Principle Scaffolding Specialist to lead all scaffolding activities on its EPCM‑managed projects in Iraq. The role is rotational (28 days on‑site, 28 days off) and serves as the technical authority for safe, efficient scaffold erection, modification, inspection and dismantling.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the approved scaffolding procedure across all project sites.
• Review, approve and monitor method statements, risk assessments and permit‑to‑work documents.
• Supervise daily scaffold operations, ensuring compliance with CISRS, OSHA and KBR‑EPCM standards.
• Verify competency and certification of all scaffold team members.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to align scaffold work with construction schedules.
• Conduct regular scaffold inspections, safety audits and maintain detailed records.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years scaffolding experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of international scaffolding standards (CISRS, OSHA, BS EN 12811).
• Prior experience on EPCM projects, preferably with KBR or similar firms.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication abilities.

• CISRS Advanced Scaffolder certification
• CISRS Scaffold Inspector certification
• CISRS Scaffold Supervisor certification
• Familiarity with OSHA scaffolding regulations
• Knowledge of BS EN 12811 standards
