Civil Team Lead – Energy/Power Plant

About the role

The Civil Team Lead will ensure that all civil works for the thermal power plant meet functional, safety, reliability and maintainability requirements while maximizing the use of locally available materials. The role also guarantees that civil system designs are detailed enough to support smooth procurement and clear construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site surveys, analyse and approve topographic reports.
• Review and comment on documents from other engineering disciplines and communicate scope changes to the civil team.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary specialists to validate civil designs and ensure they meet all discipline requirements.
• Review, approve, and comment on geotechnical investigations, MR/sub‑contract packages and technical bid evaluations from civil subcontractors.
• Provide technical support for project planning, vendor design submissions and start of manufacturing.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the civil engineering team, assigning tasks, managing workload and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Prepare periodic activity reports, define manpower needs and identify training requirements for sub‑ordinates.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health procedures on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–12 years of design experience on thermal power plant projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a civil team‑lead or supervisory role leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record of delivering civil designs for complex industrial projects.
• Strong seniority and leadership skills suitable for managing a high‑performing team.
