POS Terminal Deployment Engineer

About the role

The POS Terminal Deployment Engineer will install, configure, test and support point‑of‑sale terminals at merchant locations, ensuring secure and reliable payment processing.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and activate POS terminals at merchant sites.
• Perform firmware upgrades, software installations and terminal setup.
• Configure merchant profiles, payment applications and terminal parameters.
• Set up Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and other communication methods.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
• Verify secure communication with payment gateways and host systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful deployments.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support to merchants.
• Maintain deployment records and ensure compliance with security standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or related discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience in POS deployment, payment systems or technical support.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• POS terminal installation and configuration.
• Payment gateway integration and EMV standards.
• Terminal activation and key injection processes.
• Networking knowledge (routers, modems, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi).
• Experience with Android or embedded devices.
• Firmware upgrades and software deployment.
• Remote support and asset management tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Basic SQL knowledge (advantage).
