Backend Developer

About the role

Dofied is seeking a Backend Developer to join its on‑site team in Baghdad. You will design, develop, and maintain server‑side components of the company’s B2B payment platforms, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs for billing and transaction services.
• Integrate with external financial and billing systems.
• Maintain and optimise relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Develop microservices and modular architectures for high‑traffic environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and enforce security best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA specialists in an agile setting.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, C#, Node.js, or Python.
• Solid understanding of data modelling for financial or transactional systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
