Operations Support Engineer

About the role

The Operations Support Engineer provides daily technical support for oil and gas plant operations, assisting with commissioning, equipment troubleshooting and process optimisation. Working closely with senior engineers and on‑site operation teams, the role ensures safe, standardised and compliant plant performance while contributing to staff technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support for field and process operations in an oil and gas plant.
• Assist with plant commissioning, start‑up, shutdown and routine maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot field equipment and process faults, supporting rectification and optimisation.
• Collect and organise operational data, record technical issues and help develop improvement plans.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training, technical guidance and competency evaluation for operation personnel.
• Strictly apply ISSOW and PTW safety specifications to guarantee standardised technical operation.

Required profile

• Technical background in plant or field operations, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Ability to cooperate with senior engineering and on‑site teams to maintain safe and compliant processes.
• Experience in equipment troubleshooting, commissioning activities and process optimisation.
• Familiarity with safety procedures such as ISSOW (Integrated Safe System of Work) and PTW (Permit‑to‑Work).
