Mechanical Engineer – Service Technician (Automotive)

About the role

Ayass Automotive, the authorized GM dealer in Iraq, is looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join its service team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services for Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles, ensuring compliance with General Motors standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles according to GM manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using advanced GM diagnostic tools and systems.
• Execute repairs accurately, efficiently, and within defined timelines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Follow workshop safety regulations, keep the workspace organized, and handle tools and diagnostic devices properly.
• Complete job cards and service documentation, and communicate vehicle status, parts needs, and repair recommendations to the team leader.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Prior experience with General Motors vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac) is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with GM technical systems, service bulletins, and diagnostic protocols.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail.
• Intermediate level of English (reading and speaking).
