Mechanical Engineer – Baghdad

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop and oversee mechanical systems and equipment for projects in Baghdad. The role ensures that all mechanical infrastructure meets client specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and prepare detailed plans that comply with client needs and industry standards.
• Create accurate mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications using CAD or similar software.
• Perform mechanical calculations, system sizing and performance analysis to guarantee safe and cost‑effective operation.
• Review project specifications and regulatory frameworks to propose appropriate mechanical solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of equipment, ensuring alignment with design intent and safety codes.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks and troubleshoot issues during installation and operation.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
• Assist in procurement, vendor selection and material coordination to meet quality and delivery timelines.
