Lab Analyst – Oil & Gas Production

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum is looking for an experienced Lab Analyst to join the Production Department in Basra, Iraq. The role supports daily operations, provides technical analysis, and ensures laboratory activities align with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with engineering teams and prepare concise reports summarising project findings.
• Develop and apply test technology, instrumentation, and control systems for production quality control.
• Analyse oil, gas, water and solids samples using ASTM‑approved methods and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Assist in preparing annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets for the Halfaya Field laboratory.
• Supervise laboratory staff, mentor national personnel, and coordinate training programmes.
• Identify out‑of‑specification production issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Support R&D projects and new product introductions in collaboration with platform leaders.

Required profile

• Iraqi national with at least 10 years of solid Oil & Gas laboratory experience.
• Proven ability to work on‑site in a production environment and supervise a team.
• Strong understanding of HSE policies and commitment to safety compliance.
