Junior Backend Developer (Golang)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join Baly’s engineering team in Baghdad. You will help design, build and maintain the core backend services and APIs that power our high‑traffic super‑app used daily by customers, drivers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build scalable, secure and high‑performance systems.
• Work with SQL or NoSQL databases to store and retrieve application data efficiently.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile and product teams to integrate backend functionality.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑documented code.
• Debug, optimise and improve existing backend systems.
• Ensure system reliability, performance and data security.
• Participate in code reviews and promote technical best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with at least one backend language such as Go, Python, Java, Node.js or PHP.
• Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience using Git or other version‑control systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
