IND Sales Leader – Oil & Gas (Basra)

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced IND Sales Leader with a strong oil & gas background to drive growth in the Basra region. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, supporting tender processes, and expanding the company’s market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the Iraq oil and gas market.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with major industry players.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and prospects.
• Establish and nurture long‑term relationships with clients, contractors, and operators.
• Conduct regular client engagement activities and account reviews to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Create and implement targeted marketing campaigns and develop compelling proposals and presentations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments, providing insights for strategic decisions.
• Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, set performance targets, and track KPIs.
• Collaborate with internal departments (operations, technical, finance) for seamless execution.
• Participate in industry events, prepare tender proposals, and negotiate contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, Electrical or related field).
• MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification (preferred).
• 7‑10 years of business development, sales or commercial experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas projects, services and contracting models.
• Experience with tendering processes, proposal preparation and client negotiations.
• Familiarity with the Basra market and southern Iraq oil fields is highly preferred.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
