HR Specialist – Full‑time in Baghdad

About the role

Al Qalam Consulting & Legal Services is seeking a proactive HR Specialist to join its team in Baghdad. You will play a key role in managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment through onboarding and ongoing development, while ensuring compliance with Iraqi labor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process, from posting vacancies to onboarding new hires.
• Design and deliver onboarding and orientation programs.
• Maintain confidential employee records and update them regularly.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies and procedures.
• Oversee performance appraisal cycles and support employee development plans.
• Coordinate training initiatives and professional development activities.
• Monitor attendance, leave, and disciplinary matters.
• Foster a positive organizational culture and boost employee engagement.
• Prepare periodic HR reports for senior management.
• Ensure strict compliance with Iraqi Labor Law and internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on HR experience.
• Good knowledge of Iraqi Labor Law and standard HR practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) – preferred.
