HR Manager – Iraq

About the role

The HR Manager for Iraq will shape and execute Weatherford’s local HR strategy, aligning it with global objectives while respecting Iraq’s regulatory and cultural context. Reporting as a trusted business partner, the incumbent will lead a team of HR professionals to deliver high‑quality, compliant services that support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Model and promote Weatherford’s Safety, Quality & Compliance policies and ensure adherence to local labour laws.
• Translate MENA and global HR strategies into actionable plans for Iraq, covering talent acquisition, development, performance, reward, succession and retention.
• Support organisational design, change management and leadership development initiatives.
• Oversee efficient execution of HR transactions through Shared Services and manage HR budgets, forecasts and KPIs.
• Build trusted relationships with business leaders, provide proactive advice and anticipate people‑related challenges.
• Apply financial stewardship to deliver cost‑effective HR services and use HR analytics to drive data‑based decisions.
• Lead, coach and develop the Iraq HR team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR teams and delivering HR services in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi labour regulations and ability to ensure compliance.
• Demonstrated capability to translate global HR strategies into local operational plans.
• Experience developing HR budgets, forecasts and performance metrics.
• Ability to build trusted partnerships with senior business leaders.
