Food Service Manager Sr

About the role

The Senior Food Service Manager will lead all food service operations at the Balad site, ensuring safe, sanitary, and efficient delivery of meals to personnel. Reporting to the Site Manager and working closely with the Government Food Service Advisor, the role oversees menu planning, ration handling, subcontractor management, and compliance with military food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, and issue Class I Operational Rations, maintaining freshness and sanitary conditions.
• Develop and execute a 28‑day menu in coordination with the Government Food Service Advisor.
• Requisition and acquire subsistence from prime vendors using the STORES system and DSCP.
• Manage subcontractors for food preparation, serving, cashier operations, and dining area cleanliness, ensuring adherence to the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain equipment accountability, serviceability, and appropriate stock levels.
• Enforce safety policies, HACCP procedures, and compliance with FM 10‑23‑2, TB MED 530, and US Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards.
• Keep accurate records of all food receipt, storage, and handling activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale food service operations, preferably in a military or government setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to enforce HACCP and related standards.
• Ability to coordinate with government advisors and oversee subcontractor performance.
• Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills.
