Breakfast Chef

About the role

Shahan Company is looking for a skilled and organized Breakfast Chef for DDK Gallery Cafe at Shahan Sales Gallery, Cavalli Tower, Erbil. The chef reports to the Female Captain and prepares fresh, consistent breakfast and light cafe items such as cold sandwiches and French-style breakfasts, while keeping presentation, portion, hygiene, food-safety and kitchen-readiness standards. The role also supports hospitality needs for Sales Gallery clients, VIP visits, meetings, presentations and company guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast and light cafe items (cold sandwiches, French-style plates, toast, pastries, eggs, fruits, cheeses and approved accompaniments) according to menu and presentation standards.
• Complete daily mise en place, portion ingredients, organize the workstation and make sure the breakfast area is ready before service.
• Take orders accurately, coordinate with the Female Captain, Waiter/Waitress, Barista and other team members, and deliver food to service on time.
• Receive and store food correctly, label and date items, follow stock rotation, monitor supplies and report shortages or unsuitable ingredients.
• Control portions and use ingredients responsibly to reduce waste.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, sanitation, temperature control and safe equipment use, and report damaged equipment or quality issues immediately.

Required profile

• Ability to prepare breakfast and light cafe food to approved menus, recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Good understanding of mise en place, ingredient preparation, portioning, workstation organization and timely order preparation.
• Strong understanding of food safety, personal hygiene, sanitation, temperature control, safe food handling and contamination prevention.
• Knowledge of food storage, labeling, date control, stock rotation and portion control.
• Preferred: attention to food freshness, consistency and presentation; teamwork, organization and punctuality; ability to stay kitchen-ready during service.
