EPP/HVAC Technician

About the role

The EPP/HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing electrical power generation and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and HVAC/refrigeration equipment. The role involves scheduled maintenance, system adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation of generators ranging from 15 kW to 250 kW and HVAC units from 1‑5 ton.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic maintenance on generators and HVAC systems, adjusting voltage, refrigerant levels, current, frequency, and synchronization.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace defective components using Cummins InPower software and related diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute modifications and repairs.
• Support a variety of generator/HVAC systems listed in the technical tables, including Cummins DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, and PP‑3106A series.
• Maintain accurate records of malfunctions, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Universal 608 HVAC certification.
• High school diploma or GED; formal training in power generation (military technical school, vocational college, or four‑year apprenticeship).
• At least four years of hands‑on experience with the equipment to be maintained.
• Six months of experience with Cummins Commercial, Advanced Medium Mobile Power Source (AMMPS) and InPower software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• US citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, and a US CENTCOM medical exam.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Cummins InPower diagnostic software.
• Experience maintaining Cummins generator series (DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, PP‑3106A).
• Ability to read and work from electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Competence with electrician hand tools and testing instruments.
• Basic computer skills for online training, time‑keeping, and email communication.
