English Language Teacher

About the role

The Conan Institute is seeking a dedicated English Language Teacher to join its team in Erbil. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering student‑centered English lessons across various proficiency levels, fostering practical communication skills and measurable progress.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the institute’s curriculum.
• Prepare structured lesson plans, classroom activities, and assessment materials.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and support learners individually and in groups.
• Track attendance and academic performance, and report on progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and collaborative curriculum development.

Required profile

• Strong instructional abilities in English teaching with experience handling diverse learner profiles.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching certifications (TESOL, TEFL, CELTA) are a plus.
• Previous classroom teaching experience, preferably in language institutes or schools.
• Ability to manage classrooms, utilize various teaching resources and technologies, and adapt to different learning styles.
• Commitment to inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and continuous professional development.
