Drilling & Completion Supervisor

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Drilling & Completion Supervisor for a full-time position in Basrah, Iraq. The supervisor oversees drilling and completion operations during night shifts, acts as the company representative on site and supports the Senior Drilling & Completion Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise drilling and completion operations during night shifts and support the Senior Supervisor.
• Ensure drilling and completion programs, operational procedures, HSE requirements and industry best practices are implemented.
• Monitor contractor and service company activities for safe, efficient and compliant operations.
• Prepare operational instructions and supervise critical or sensitive operations under senior management's direction.
• Identify operational risks and propose alternatives to unplanned events.
• Take part in pre-spud meetings, daily coordination meetings, toolbox talks, SIMOPS meetings and other operational discussions.
• Prepare daily drilling reports and monitor operational costs.
• Coordinate on-site logistics, including returning equipment and consumables to base.
• Take part in risk assessments, HAZID and HAZOP exercises, well integrity activities and well remediation planning.
• Ensure hazards, near misses and incidents are reported promptly, and support emergency preparedness and response.
• Promote a strong HSE culture and work with contractors, service companies and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Diploma in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in drilling and/or completion operations as a day or night Company Man, or in an equivalent supervisory role.
• Valid Well Control certification: IWCF or IADC Level 4 is mandatory.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Willingness to work a rotational schedule of four weeks on and four weeks off, and ability to work in a remote onshore oilfield environment.
