Completion & Well Intervention Supervisor

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Completion & Well Intervention Supervisor based in Basrah, Iraq. The role supervises on-site completion operations and acts as the on-site Drilling & Wells representative, supporting the Senior Drilling & Completion Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate on-site completion operations in line with approved completion programs, operational instructions and industry best practice.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, statutory requirements, SIMOPS dossiers, bridging documents and operational standards.
• Lead and supervise completion crews and contractor personnel, and prepare operational instructions.
• Identify operational risks and propose alternative programs or solutions to keep operations running.
• Take part in pre-spud meetings, Daily Task Meetings, Toolbox Talks and SIMOPS coordination meetings.
• Support engineering teams during preparation phases and oversee completion equipment readiness at contractor bases.
• Coordinate equipment, consumables and logistics, including returning materials to base.
• Take part in risk assessments for operational options, well remediation and well integrity, and report hazards, near misses and incidents promptly.
• Improve operational efficiency, reduce execution time and costs, and promote standardization and HSE practices.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in drilling and/or completion operations.
• Hands-on completion experience is mandatory.
• Valid Well Control certification (IWCF or IADC).
• Experience coordinating completion crews, contractors, equipment readiness and on-site operations.
• Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
