Data Center Engineer

About the role

The Data Center Engineer is responsible for ensuring continuous power, cooling and network availability within a data‑center environment. The role combines hands‑on installation, routine maintenance and supervision of technical teams to keep critical infrastructure running without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise electrical and instrumentation technicians during daily operations and project execution.
• Perform troubleshooting of wiring loops, fiber connections and instrument panels to meet safety standards.
• Oversee construction and installation of equipment, cable trays, ladders, fire‑detection and gas‑monitoring systems.
• Install and commission inverters, UPS units and generators, and conduct site acceptance tests.
• Provide rapid response to network or power incidents and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain daily activity reports covering fiber cuts, rack installations and equipment status.
• Conduct health checks on generators, PDUs, cooling systems and grounding/earthing arrangements.
• Liaise with management on design suggestions, client reliability optimisation and emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Proven experience with data‑center power and cooling infrastructure.
• Ability to lead and coordinate technical teams on site.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for electrical installations.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
