Control Room Supervisor

About the role

The Control Room Supervisor will oversee real‑time operation of the Central Processing Facility (CPF) in Basra, ensuring safe and stable plant performance. Reporting to the CPF Superintendent, the role works closely with production teams on a daily or rotational basis.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance via the Distributed Control System (DCS) and maintain full situational awareness of all process units.
• Interpret trends, alarms, and conditions to anticipate and mitigate operational issues.
• Make immediate operational decisions during alarms, deviations, and abnormal conditions, balancing safety, equipment protection, environmental impact, and production continuity.
• Lead CPF start‑up, shutdown, and transition procedures in line with approved operating procedures.
• Diagnose process upsets, coordinate troubleshooting with field operators and CPF supervisors, and maintain stability during equipment maintenance.
• Initiate Emergency Shutdown (ESD) when required and act as the central focal point during plant emergencies.
• Coordinate with field operators, FSF operations, and maintenance teams to ensure plant stability, especially during Permit to Work (PTW) activities.
• Manage alarm systems and support process safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Iraqi national with at least 10 years of solid Oil & Gas experience.
• Proven experience in control‑room operations and CPF management.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and production priorities in an industrial setting.
