Contracts and Procurement Manager

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement Manager to lead the contracting and procurement functions for an IFMS project in Basra, Iraq. The role involves safeguarding the contractor and KBR from contractual risk while ensuring compliance with best‑practice methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce contracting policies to minimise risk and promote continuous improvement.
• Lead the contracting team through the Senior Contracts Manager and the procurement team through the Procurement Manager.
• Authorize procedures, monitor work progress, and oversee site activities, claims, variations and audits.
• Manage the contract and procurement aspects of the agreement, including RFQ issuance, vendor qualification, bid evaluation and purchase order approval.
• Represent the contractor in monthly progress meetings with the client, highlighting risks such as late deliveries or claims.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met and maintain confidentiality of all information.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in contracts and procurement within large engineering or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of contractual risk management, procurement processes and audit requirements.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with client stakeholders.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental best practices.
