Construction Manager – EPC Project (Samawa, Iraq)

About the role

The Construction Manager will lead all construction activities for the EPC‑PS2 project at the Samawa site in Iraq. Reporting to the EPC Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Construction Execution Plan, method statements and work inspection packages in coordination with engineering.
• Manage site mobilization, including camp layout, lay‑down areas, access, temporary facilities and deployment of tools and equipment.
• Monitor progress against the master schedule with the Project Controls Manager and apply corrective actions for any delays.
• Lead the on‑site construction team (civil, mechanical, E&I, control engineers, material controller, surveyor and site manager), assign work packages and conduct daily coordination meetings.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards, and manage permits, inspections and hold points.
• Coordinate material receipt, inspection, storage and logistics together with the Material Controller and Supply Chain functions.
• Facilitate the handover to commissioning, track mechanical completion milestones and support as‑built documentation.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary construction teams on large EPC projects, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, Iraqi and international standards, and quality assurance procedures.
• Ability to work on‑site in a remote environment and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
