Civil Supervisor - Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Civil Supervisor for a full-time position in Basrah, Iraq. The role covers supervision of civil construction works on oil and gas projects, including well pad foundations, earthworks, concrete structures and drainage, while ensuring compliance with H3SE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil construction works according to contract requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, ITPs and work packs.
• Oversee site preparation, clearing, earthworks, excavation, leveling, compaction, foundations, concrete structures, platforms, drainage, culverts and access roads.
• Supervise well pad foundations, equipment foundations, pits, trenches and related infrastructure.
• Directly supervise civil subcontractors, foremen and construction crews.
• Ensure compliance with H3SE requirements and promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture on site.
• Take part in toolbox talks, HSE walks, site inspections and incident investigations, stopping unsafe work when necessary.
• Coordinate with the Well Pad Construction Lead, Piping Supervisors, E&I Supervisors and others on sequencing and interface management.
• Monitor daily progress, report delays and coordinate inspections, hold points and punch list closure.
• Ensure quality, material compliance, workmanship and dimensional tolerances, and proper housekeeping and reinstatement.

Required profile

• Diploma or engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in oil and gas projects, with at least 5 years in a similar civil supervisory position.
• Strong experience in civil works for oil and gas facilities and well pads.
• Good knowledge of earthworks, excavation, concrete works, foundations, drainage and access roads.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, technical specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Good working knowledge of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Willingness to work a rotational schedule of four weeks on and four weeks off.

Required skills

• Construction sequencing and coordination between civil, drilling, piping and E&I activities.
• Supervision of civil subcontractors, foremen and crews.
• Knowledge of construction quality requirements and H3SE standards.
• Communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
