Assistant Lecturer

About the role

The University is seeking an Assistant Lecturer to join its academic staff on a full‑time, on‑site basis in Erbil. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning within the assigned department, working under the supervision of senior faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and seminars.
• Assist in curriculum development and create teaching materials.
• Supervise student assignments, projects and provide academic advising.
• Participate in research activities, including literature review, data collection and report preparation.
• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to university service and community outreach.
• Uphold academic integrity and promote an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Strong teaching and presentation abilities with clear communication.
• Academic research competence, including literature review and data analysis.
• Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration and mentoring.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management capabilities.
• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline; PhD progress is a plus.
• Commitment to inclusive, non‑discriminatory education.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies and basic computer applications.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Erbil and engage in university and community life.
