Aircraft Mechanic II – Avionics

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Avionics is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and calibrating aircraft electrical and avionics systems at Balad, Iraq. The role requires deep technical knowledge of avionics manuals, schematics and test equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify complex avionics/electrical systems using schematics, blueprints and maintenance manuals.
• Utilize test equipment such as digital volt/amp meters, transponder ramp testers, fuel quantity testers and ITT calibration sets.
• Order parts, perform aircraft jacking, hoisting, and ground support equipment operation.
• Conduct corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, and calibrate altimeter and directional guidance systems.
• Maintain work‑center cleanliness and comply with FOD, hazardous waste, safety and quality programs.

Required profile

• Completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft avionics school or equivalent training, plus three years of avionics maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED; ability to meet all government/company licensing requirements.
• Experience with T6 series aircraft is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and maintain current turn qualification.
