Technical Director

About the role

FiberX is seeking a Technical Director to lead its technical department. Reporting to the Deputy CEO/COO, you will be responsible for network planning and deployment, core network and NOC operations, and service delivery across three Iraqi cities while the network scales at commercial pace.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the deployment roadmap for feeders, OLTs, cabinets, and in‑building wiring in close collaboration with commercial teams.
• Oversee network operations, NOC performance, and core network availability, ensuring robust escalation processes.
• Establish and enforce installation and service‑delivery quality standards with city field teams.
• Manage service‑quality regimes, including SLAs, repair capacity, and measured recovery times.
• Build and maintain the technical team structure, standards, and vendor relationships.
• Control the technical budget and capex discipline as coverage expands.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in telecom or ISP network engineering and operations.
• At least 5 years leading a department or large engineering team.
• Hands‑on experience with FTTH/GPON build‑out and operations at operator scale.
• Proven track record of running or building a NOC with strong operational discipline.
• Ability to create realistic delivery plans that balance pace and quality.
• Professional working proficiency in Arabic and English.
