Civil Engineer – On-site Position in Erbil

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its on‑site team in Erbil. The role focuses on leading civil design activities for large‑scale infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide all civil design activities for the project.
• Ensure design consistency with applicable codes, standards, and operator specifications.
• Perform value engineering assessments to optimise cost and performance.
• Conduct constructability reviews to verify field‑execution feasibility.
• Provide technical guidance during detailed design development, including specifications, cost estimates and schedules.
• Collect and verify initial data required for detailed design.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of civil/structural design codes and standards (national and international).
• Proven experience in design review, value engineering and constructability analysis.
• Familiarity with procurement and tender processes for large‑scale projects.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
