About the role
Rixos Baghdad is looking for a highly organized Purchasing Manager to lead the hotel’s procurement function. The role involves sourcing quality goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that purchasing activities are cost‑effective and aligned with operational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a procurement strategy that balances quality, price, and budget requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and delivery timelines.
- Oversee the full purchasing cycle from requisition to vendor payment and reconciliation.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings while preserving product standards.
- Control inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Conduct quality inspections on deliveries to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Collaborate with finance to manage the procurement budget and report variances.
- Stay updated on market trends and new supplier options.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team.
- Implement sustainable procurement practices in line with ESG goals.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- Strong negotiation and supplier‑management skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with finance, operations, and other departments.
- Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
