Plumber Supervisor (Plumbing Superintendent)

About the role

The Plumbing Supervisor oversees daily operations of the plumbing department at a site in Balad, Iraq. The role combines hands‑on technical work with planning, scheduling, and team leadership to ensure reliable water, heating, and plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, repair, and maintenance of water, plumbing, and heating systems.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and analyze worker utilization and job time rates.
• Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks for a team of plumbers.
• Establish work standards, production controls, job priorities, and preventative‑maintenance programs.
• Create plumbing layout sketches, determine material quantities, and estimate time and cost for jobs.
• Oversee the plumbing shop, perform shop work, and assist staff on complex projects.
• Maintain plumbing tools and equipment and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CAC eligibility required.
• Journeyman Plumber certification (Master Plumber license preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of plumbing/mechanical‑pipefitting experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, applicable codes, and supervisory principles.
• Understanding of pumps, boilers, heaters, and other plumbing components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Journeyman Plumber certification.
• Proficiency with plumbing codes and standards.
• Ability to read and produce plumbing layout sketches.
• Experience estimating time, labor, and material costs.
• Skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining all types of plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of pump, boiler, and heater operation.
