Sales Engineer - Steel and Metal Fabrication

About the role

A leading company in the steel and metal fabrication industry is looking for a motivated, results-driven Sales Engineer. The role focuses on developing new business, building strong client relationships and promoting metal fabrication products such as steel columns, trusses, bridges, tanks, containers and other structural steel products. The ideal candidate has a strong sales background, good knowledge of the steel industry and the ability to turn opportunities into successful deals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities in the steel and metal fabrication market
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, construction companies, engineering firms and industrial clients
• Promote and sell steel products including columns, trusses, bridges, tanks, containers and fabricated metal structures
• Understand client requirements and coordinate with technical and production teams to provide suitable solutions
• Prepare quotations, follow up on offers and negotiate prices and commercial terms
• Carry out client visits, meetings and follow-ups
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer demand
• Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to business growth
• Maintain customer records, sales reports and pipeline updates
• Follow up on orders and coordinate with internal departments for timely delivery

Required profile

• Previous sales experience, preferably in the steel, metal fabrication, construction or industrial sectors
• At least 5 years of proven sales experience in those sectors
• Good understanding of steel products and metal fabrication solutions
• Experience dealing with contractors, construction companies, engineering offices or industrial clients is preferred
