Senior I&C Support Engineer

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum’s South Basra Integrated Project is looking for a Senior I&C Support Engineer to join the Production Department on a rotation basis in Basra, Iraq. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing instrumentation and control systems to ensure high availability, accuracy, and safety of production facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and support I&C maintenance, reliability, and system integrity programs for production facilities.
• Ensure high availability and accuracy of field instrumentation, control systems, safeguarding systems, and automation infrastructure.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, failure investigation, and system optimization.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process stability, safety, and asset performance.
• Maintain full compliance with HSE, cybersecurity, and QA/QC standards.
• Manage I&C Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, and contractors performing I&C maintenance and projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of experience in instrumentation and control maintenance within Oil & Gas or heavy industrial facilities.
• Proven experience with DCS, PLC, ESD, and field instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of IEC, ISA, API standards and OEM recommendations.
• Understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and functional safety principles.
• Experience in alarm management and control loop tuning.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to supervise contractors and maintenance teams.
• High safety and cybersecurity awareness.
• Fluency in English and proficiency with CMMS systems.
