Electrical Engineer

About the role

Al‑Awsat Company is looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer to join its engineering and maintenance team at the Al‑Awsat Chips & Food Factory in Abu Ghraib, Baghdad. The role involves overseeing electrical and automation systems for automated food production and packaging lines.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain electrical systems, automation (PLC), and control panels across automated food production and packaging lines.
• Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance for industrial machinery, motors, VFDs, and power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults rapidly to minimize line downtime and maintain maximum operational efficiency.
• Monitor industrial power sources, generators, transformers, and electrical safety systems.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and production leads to ensure smooth daily shop‑floor operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in an industrial/factory environment, preferably in food manufacturing or automated production lines.
• Solid expertise in PLC systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), control panel wiring, and reading electrical schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and readiness for field‑level maintenance work.
• Based in Baghdad (proximity to Abu Ghraib/Karkh side is preferred).
