About the role
The Buyer / Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services needed by the hotel, ensuring competitive pricing, timely delivery, and compliance with quality standards. The role supports all internal departments by managing purchase requests and maintaining accurate supplier records.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and review purchase requests from various departments promptly.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Prepare and verify purchase orders in line with company procedures and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve any issues.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of suppliers, pricing, and purchasing transactions.
- Monitor stock levels with the Stores team to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Conduct market surveys to discover new suppliers, products, and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Verify the quality and quantity of received items together with the receiving/store team.
- Communicate order status and purchasing procedures to all departments.
- Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and health & safety procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Buyer in a 5‑star hotel or a reputable company.
- Advanced reading, writing and speaking skills in Kurdish, Arabic and English.
- Strong communication abilities, energetic, flexible and able to work under pressure.
- Good knowledge of health and safety and emergency procedures.
