About the role
The Universe Manager oversees floor activities on the universe floor, ensuring efficient operations, high visual merchandising standards, and excellent customer service. This role is responsible for driving sales, managing stock, and coordinating events to enhance the store’s performance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage universe staff: schedule, set goals, monitor performance, train and motivate.
- Develop commercial policy, seasonal layout plan, and annual campaign timetable.
- Recommend price adjustments based on benchmarking.
- Monitor sales, inventory, P&L and achieve weekly/seasonal targets.
- Maintain stock levels, assist with inventories and reorder merchandise.
- Ensure prompt customer service and uphold quality standards.
- Plan and execute shop events, promote via social media.
- Communicate with wholesale customers and partner with local sports clubs.
- Support market research and identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee end-of-day cash procedures and coordinate with accounting.
- Handle shipments, negotiate with suppliers and report operational issues.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 6–8 years retail experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in sports goods retail is a plus.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MS Office.
