Systems Administrator – GCCS-J (Erbil Air Base)

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the GCCS‑J program at Erbil Air Force Base, Iraq. The role ensures the installation, configuration, and operational readiness of mission‑critical DoD systems in a deployed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, maintain and troubleshoot GCCS‑J software and its supporting infrastructure.
• Support Windows 11 systems within DNS and Active Directory environments.
• Perform system audits, readiness assessments and pre‑deployment checkouts for GCCS‑J platforms.
• Monitor enterprise system performance, identify anomalies and resolve operational issues.
• Implement DoD patch management, vulnerability remediation and related tools.
• Configure and manage Windows DHCP, Group Policy Objects and PowerShell‑based administration tasks.
• Manage system backups, recovery operations, storage allocation and infrastructure optimization.
• Support and maintain Red Hat Linux systems and associated services.
• Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues using TCP/IP principles.
• Support Agile Client / Komodo environments used to access GCCS‑J services.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams and stakeholders to implement improvements and resolve challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or Master’s with fewer years of experience).
• 8–12 years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent defense‑focused experience).
• Active Top Secret clearance prior to start date.
• Current DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Minimum 5 years of IT and network administration experience within DoD environments.
• 2–5 years of experience supporting and analyzing GCCS‑J systems.
