Steward – Day Shift

About the role

The Steward works on the day shift to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in both kitchen and dining areas. This role supports smooth operations by handling dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and basic food preparation tasks, ensuring a hygienic environment for staff and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and dining tables.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items manually or using dishwashing machines.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste safely.
• Assist with basic food preparation such as chopping vegetables, washing produce, and portioning ingredients.
• Stock and replenish supplies, including dishes, utensils, and cleaning products.
• Follow safety procedures and health‑sanitation regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic literacy and ability to follow written instructions.
• Previous cleaning, steward, or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Good personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cleaning tasks.
• Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to work varied shifts.
• Capability to maintain a neat, presentable environment in customer‑facing areas.
