Sourcing & Procurement Specialist

About the role

Black Star is seeking a highly organized, commercially focused Sourcing & Procurement Specialist based in Baghdad. The role supports sales, operations and project teams by managing suppliers, obtaining quotations and negotiating commercial terms while ensuring fast turnaround on sourcing requests.

Key responsibilities

• Source products and services from local and international vendors, distributors, manufacturers and partners.
• Obtain, compare and evaluate quotations based on price, delivery, payment terms, warranty and commercial conditions.
• Negotiate pricing, discounts, payment terms, lead times and delivery conditions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce procurement, freight, logistics and overall project costs.
• Provide accurate and timely pricing and budget information to the sales team.
• Manage multiple RFQs and sourcing requests simultaneously with fast turnaround.
• Travel locally to meet vendors, inspect products and follow up on orders.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs brokers and local logistics providers.
• Maintain a structured vendor and supplier database using Odoo CRM.

Required profile

• Experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain or vendor management.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills with knowledge of the Iraqi supplier market.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally within Iraq.
• Ability to manage a large number of vendors, quotations and simultaneous requests under pressure.
• Proactive, agile, persistent and results‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for quotation comparison and data analysis.
• Experience with CRM/ERP systems; Odoo preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication in Arabic and English.
