About the role
The Socioeconomic Strategic Consultant will support the Resident Coordinator System in Iraq by providing timely analysis, coordination, and synthesis of socioeconomic developments that affect UN Country Team (UNCT) planning and implementation of the UNSDCF 2025‑2029.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare an inception note and workplan within the first week, outlining methodology, priority support areas, coordination approach, and timeline.
- Consolidate and synthesize updated socioeconomic and operational inputs from UN entities, producing concise update notes on emerging developments and their operational implications.
- Support up to two inter‑agency coordination discussions on emerging socioeconomic and regional developments, and draft summary notes with observations, risks, and follow‑up points.
- Provide analytical follow‑up on priority areas identified in the joint UNESCWA‑UNCT paper, focusing on liquidity stabilization, fiscal sustainability, essential services continuity, and socioeconomic resilience.
- Deliver a final summary report that captures key findings, trends, risks, and recommendations for ongoing UNCT follow‑up.
Required profile
- Experience in socioeconomic analysis and coordination within UN or international development contexts.
- Familiarity with UN Country Team processes and the New Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF 2025‑2029).
