SIYB Trainer & MSME Liaison for Finance Access in Basra

About the role

The International Labour Organization is seeking a national consultant to deliver Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) and financial education training in Basra, collect tracer study data from beneficiaries, and facilitate dialogue sessions that link micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver SIYB and financial literacy workshops for youth, entrepreneurs and small business owners.
• Supervise the collection, validation and reporting of tracer study data from training participants.
• Organise and moderate MSME dialogue sessions to promote business linkages and formalisation.
• Coordinate with local ministries, employers’ organisations, and financial institutions to ensure effective implementation.
• Provide feedback to project managers on training impact and emerging financing needs.

Required profile

• National consultant with proven experience in delivering business and financial education training.
• Familiarity with MSME development, green business concepts and the Iraqi context, especially Basra.
• Experience in data collection, monitoring and evaluation for development projects.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in Arabic and English.
