Senior Sales Engineer – Mechanical Seals

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Sales Engineer specializing in mechanical seals to drive growth for a diversified trading company in Baghdad. The role combines deep mechanical engineering knowledge with sales expertise to expand our presence in the oil & gas, industrial, and mechanical equipment sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and business development targets.
• Identify, nurture, and maintain relationships with key customers, contractors, EPC firms, and end‑users.
• Generate new business opportunities, manage projects from initial contact through tendering, negotiation, and contract award.
• Promote and sell mechanical seals and related rotating‑equipment solutions across relevant industries.
• Conduct customer visits, technical meetings, product presentations, and site assessments.
• Analyze technical requirements and propose appropriate sealing solutions.
• Prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals in coordination with internal teams.
• Review RFQs, tender documents, and specifications to ensure compliance.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions within approved guidelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, finance, and management to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging projects to identify new opportunities.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline, forecasts, and regular reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales engineering, preferably within mechanical seals or rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical engineering background with solid technical knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles from opportunity to contract award.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Effective customer relationship management and communication abilities.
